The cross-country at Brookleigh is an International cross-country course, origionally designed and built by FEI course builder Wayne Copping, where Brookleigh has staged 1*, 2*and 3*, one-, two- and three-day events at both National and International levels. Now designed by Ewan Kellet FEI course builder from Victoria. The cross-country course offers an exceptional training facility, both for riders starting out at the very beginning of their eventing career (or even for those who just want to 'do it for fun') as well as being an ideal venue for coaches and trainers to hold clinics and workshops for all levels of competitors.

I consider by myself to be unbelievably lucky to be able to call Brookleigh "home" when I am in Perth and of course as Nikki owns Ben he constantly reminds me it IS his home!

MITAVITE FEEDS

Until recently I have feed what ever feed is in the silos. The problem with this was that when I travel it is difficult to access whole grain and also the quality is so variable.

On top of this I had horses that were a little smelly, as they were not digesting all the grain properly so they were fermenting some of the grain and wasting it. This fermentation was also making them hotter.

So on the trip East pre WEG 2010 I did some research and decided to try Mitavite feeds. The horses loved it!

P Illicit Liaison became so much more settled it was amazing and I had any number of people tell me Jag looked the best he ever had.

The products seem to be available in every state. This is of course a huge bonus for me with the travelling I do.

There is feed available not only for my performance horses but also for the young horses and breeding stock.

I am very happy with the results I am achieving with the horses and they seem to love the taste. (Mind you with some of them you could add yogurt and have it as breakfast yourself)

 

OAKFORD EQUINE HOSPITAL

 Dr Michael Procter of Oakford Equine Hospital has been part of the Parkiarrup eventing team since 1987. Yes before he graduated!

Over the years I have learnt how important a great vet is in the team of a competition stable.

Michael has an unbelievable memory for how my horses move and will quickly pick up the smallest change in the horses.

Being so far away from him he has an ability to help me solve problems where ever I am in the world. This is the sort of vet who if he is not sure will say I don't know. This does not happen very often but if it does he will always track down the answer for.

Passionate about performance horses Michael has just imported 2 fabulous warmblood mares to breed warm bloods with.

Based in Melbourne Kaye has a passion for horses and through the family business has converted this passion to signature pieces of jewelry that can be worn anywhere.

I am definitely not a fan of overtly horsey jewelry but the EJ&CO products are stylish but with many of them the non horsey would just go “gosh that an attractive shape” where as the horse person will recognize what it actually is modeled on.

Jo Schneider the owner is committed to accessing therapeutic goods from around the world to help you, your horse and even your dog!

The product I most use is the Activo rug.

This is a rug that combines massage with electro magnetic impulse.

So many of the massage products only treat a small portion of the horse unless you do it by hand.

The activo rug does the whole horse from head to tail. It will relax or stimulate depending on the setting used. Very useful I give you the tip!

I was originally recommended to the rug by Narelle Stubbs the Australian team Physio and am very happy with the results it produces.

 

SHOW PONY DYE

Jag is one of those black horses that changes colour with the season. In summer when we are not competing he is a luscious black. In winter he is a cacky brown. I so much prefer him black.

This was a real problem until I discovered Show Pony dye.

Formulated for the equine skin it will turn Jag coal black and keep him that  way for about 3 months.

It is available in many colours and Chris the co owner can make a special colour for you if required..

They even do a clear, which will make your grey gleam.

Owned and operated by Drs Simon and Rebecca Bell Breedtech is the one stop shop for all your Sheep breeding services.

Breedtech has done all our artificial breeding for some years now and do a great job. Based at Kojonup in the Great Southern of Western Australia they not only do a great job with the sheep but also breed quality performance horses. My exciting new ride Belfast Mojito carries their stud prefix.
